Fairytale Gloom

Players control a cast of familiar fairy-tale characters and manipulate their fortunes by playing transparent modifier cards that add misfortunes or happiness to each character’s story. Each turn, players attach negative or positive events to any character, alter narrative paths, and try to maximize the cumulative suffering of their own characters before they die while steering opponents’ characters toward happier outcomes. The game resolves scoring when characters die, summing modifiers to determine which player’s roster endured the most tragedy.
