The game covers both engagements at regimental scale, with scenarios depicting Stonewall Jackson’s attack on a superior Union force and Jubal Early’s defeat of George Crook’s army. Players maneuver units and issue orders through a blind chit-pull system that models fog of war, battlefield friction, and uncertain outcomes. Turns represent 20 minutes, with a map scale of 140 yards per hex. Scenarios take three to ten hours to play.
