Gameplay uses scenario-driven objectives—survive, rescue, or escape—alongside card-driven tactics from separate hero and zombie decks and six-sided dice combat modified by weapon and upgrade cards. This edition consolidates expanded rules and content, adds new scenarios, cards, plastic miniatures for many counters, and a remastered soundtrack, with components compatible with earlier expansions.
