Players lead a small squad on a timed rescue-and-recovery mission aboard a crashed Cerberus research cruiser caught in a lethal storm. The game plays as a cooperative, card-driven narrative campaign set during the events of 2186, with branching missions and AI decks that react to player choices and evolve across sessions. Players recruit and field squadmates from the trilogy, assign roles, and customize abilities, equipment, and powers as characters gain experience; optional loyalty tasks unlock unique upgrades. Tactical combats, exploration of the wreck, and scenario objectives drive a sequence of linked missions where early decisions change later challenges.
