Players build a mid-19th-century New England whaling town by placing workers, gathering goods, and adding buildings that unlock new actions. Each round players take two worker placements on town and whaling boards to collect food, wood, brick, sell goods, dock ships, build, or launch voyages. Ships travel outward to hunt whales, with farther voyages offering better prizes but higher costs and increasing risk as whales become scarcer over time; returning ships require paying crew shares. Buildings provide persistent action spaces others may use for a fee and score at game end. The game runs twelve rounds of resource management, timing, and worker placement; final scoring counts buildings, whale hauls, and remaining money.
