Panzer Battles: 11th Panzer on the Chir River

Simulates the December 1942 mobile defensive actions of a German panzer division on the Chir River as Soviet mechanized armies attempt to tighten the Stalingrad encirclement. Play represents two-to-three day turns at a 500 m hex scale with units from company to regiment and emphasizes fast counterattacks and fluid maneuver. Players activate formations via a chit-pull system to recreate the interactive, fire-brigade nature of the historical fighting. Four scenarios cover short engagements and a two-map campaign; two full-color maps, a large counter sheet and SCS-based rules support medium-complexity, two-player or multiplayer sessions lasting from a few hours up to a full day.
