Reign of Witches

Two players represent rival Federalist leaders maneuvering for control during the Quasi-War era. Players buy cards from a shared market, play them to build influence in three tracks — Politics, Military, and Opinion — and activate card abilities for special effects. Each faction favors different tools: one gains easier political intrigue while the other holds advantages in land or sea military power. Opinion play focuses on discarding opposing cards before they trigger. A neutral contender quietly accumulates influence and must be outscored alongside the opponent to win. Random events and troubles—plague, rebellions, foreign battles and prominent historical figures—shape the short campaign to determine the outcome of the 1800 election.
