Tentative rating after one 3p game. Good innovation on the reverse order of worker placement with some good ideas on how to damage your enemies. Great streamlined themes of conquest, territories, technologies, cities and commerce. So much streamlined though, as to feel pretty dry…and the end result seem to lack a bit of soul. the interaction on the map is interesting, the tools you can gain with any action are well balanced, the many facets of the game work well together.. but in the end something is missing which I can not properly name … Perhaps a bit too abstract and soulless, too long for the little interaction between the different ways you can score points (decisions on where to pour your resources in order to score victory points has the same footprint as 2.000 other German games: invest here in this now, or in this for later, score x now or y later, get this for sure now, or more later, maybe … )
