Players take roles within Catalonian society and navigate political, social and economic tensions between Catalonia and the Spanish government. Gameplay revolves around playing and managing cards to pursue one of two paths: secure independence through government recognition or force a public referendum. Players collect democratic participation counters; the player with the most counters at the end wins. Events such as a government intervention affect all players and can cause a collective loss. Decision-making, timing and managing risks drive the interaction as players pursue competing strategies toward independence or referendum outcomes.
