The Road to Cheren

A two-player wargame covering the 1941 Eritrea campaign in East Africa, where British and French forces fight Italian troops across rugged, mountainous terrain. Units represent companies through brigades, with each turn covering one week. Movement is central to play, followed by limited enemy reactions and combat. Motorized infantry, tanks, and cavalry can conduct exploitation movement after combat, but these forces are scarce. A chit-pull system provides special abilities and keeps future actions uncertain, while some Italian native units may defect to the Allies or remain loyal. Games take 2–4 hours and offer high solitaire playability.
