Flick of Faith

Players take the roles of competing deities trying to spread their faith across a cluster of islands. Each chooses a god with a unique power, then across four rounds they flick wooden prophet discs onto the map, attempting to occupy islands, knock rivals’ prophets away, and place temples. Each round has a Council phase where players vote on a temporary rule card, a Mission phase of sequential flicking and power use, and a Conversion phase where control of islands and domination bonuses score points. One central island offers a high-risk, high-reward objective tied to temple placement and area spread. After four rounds players total victory points to determine the winner.

Întrebări despre reguli

Răspunsuri din regulament de la asistentul de reguli Ludoya.

How exactly do I flick a Prophet — what finger can I use, and what if the disc doesn't leave my Player's Corner or goes off the map?

You strike the disc with a single finger (thumb-release optional) as shown in the flick illustration; if a flick does not move the Prophet completely outside your Player's Corner you may flick it again. Any Prophets flicked or pushed off the Map are removed to the Reserve Pool. (pages 4, 8)

Can Prophets/Temples overlap or stack, and when does a Prophet count as being on an Island or in the Sea?

A Prophet counts as present on an Island/City/Navel if it is inside a Border or touching the Border; otherwise it is on the Sea, and if a component lies on another component it is considered to occupy the same map position as that component. The rules do not prohibit pieces ending up touching/stacked — you use the touching/inside rule to determine Presence. (page 3)

How do we pick Law Cards in the Council Phase, and what happens if votes tie?

Draw two Law Cards (upper = first, lower = second); all players simultaneously vote thumbs-up or thumbs-down — if more thumbs up the upper card enters, if more thumbs down the lower card enters, and if tied you shuffle the two and randomly pick one to enter the game. (page 7)

When can I build a Temple after flicking — do I have to remove the Prophet first and where can I place the Temple?

After your flick you may remove any of your Prophets that touch a City to the Reserve Pool and for each removed Prophet place one of your Temples anywhere on that Island (it need not occupy the Prophet's former spot); if you have no unused Temples you may reuse one already on the Map. (pages 8, 9)

What happens when a Prophet lands on the Navel — how many Victory Points do I get?

Whenever Prophets are removed from the Navel, each removed Prophet's owner scores 1 VP for each Island where they have Presence plus 1 VP for that removed Prophet, and then those Prophets go to the Reserve Pool. (pages 8, 9)

How are Presence and Domination scored in the Worship Phase, and what happens to Prophets and Temples afterward?

In Worship each player scores 1 VP per Island where they have at least one Prophet or Temple (Presence) and 2 additional VP per Island where they have more Prophets+Temples than any other player (Domination); ties for Domination score nothing. After scoring, all Prophets flicked that Generation are returned to their owners from the Reserve Pool, while Temples remain on the Map and may not be moved. (page 10)
