Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island

Players act as shipwreck survivors on a deserted island, cooperating to build a settlement, secure food, craft tools and weapons, and protect themselves from weather and wild beasts. Play uses scenario-driven objectives and card-driven events, with exploration and resource management guiding decisions about where to search, what structures to erect, and which risks to take. Character roles offer different abilities while players allocate actions, gather wood, hunt, and react to hazards over several in-game weeks. Scenarios introduce mysteries and goals—treasure, ruins, or hidden temples—through hundreds of event, object, and structure cards that shape each playthrough.

    Played one solo game. I usually don't enjoy games with convoluted rules, but the new rulebook is so good and I love the theme so much that I'm keeping this one. Still, not sure how often it'll hit the table. I've played it a few more times, it's convoluted, it's unfair, but overall still a really satisfying experience.

Do we resolve Events and Threats before we place pawns and take Actions, or after?

The Event phase is the first step of each round — resolve Events/Adventures/Mysteries and any Threats before Morale, Production and the Action (planning/pawn placement) phase (see pages 4–5).

Can I place two (or more) pawns on the same action space to double the effect?

No — normally only one pawn/token is allowed per space, except when an action space explicitly shows extra‑pawn/support icons or when the support rules permit additional pawns; follow the extra‑pawn/support rules on placement (see pages 6–7 and the one‑token rule on page 14).

Can I give my Determination tokens to another player or use someone else’s Determination?

Determination tokens are individual and not shared — each Character gains and spends their own Determination tokens (see page 14 and the description of gaining/using Determination on page 11).

At Night who eats first and when do we move the Camp — what if we don’t have enough food?

At the start of the Night phase each player must discard 1 food (if there isn’t enough, the player(s) chosen not to eat take 2 Wounds); Camp movement is resolved after eating and Shelter (or lack of it) then determines additional wounds and movement penalties (see page 13).

We gathered wood/food during Actions — can other players use those resources immediately?

No — resources, discovery tokens and newly built Items go to the Future Resources space during the Action phase and only become available after all Actions are resolved, when they are moved to the Available Resources space (see page 11).

Does a Roof completely protect us from Weather clouds and storms?

Roof protects from a number of Rain/Winter Clouds up to its level, but you must first discard 1 wood for each Winter Cloud regardless of Roof; for every Cloud not covered by your Roof you discard 1 food and 1 wood (or each player takes Wounds if you can’t), and Storm/Hungry Animals have separate effects such as lowering Palisade or triggering Beast fights (see page 12).
