Chang'an

Set in a Tang-dynasty metropolis, players act as urban planners competing to renew and populate city districts. Each turn a player takes one of three actions: research, arrange and activate cards on their gate tableau to generate resources and trigger character effects, or move cards into district slots to construct buildings and attract influential visitors. Built cards grant privileges and victory points; gate cards are temporary and do not count toward the end condition. The game ends when a player has nine or more cards built in their city districts. The winner is the player with the most victory points.
