MAG-23 Guadalcanal

A solitaire, book-based, narrative-style air wargame about Marine Air Group 23, the Cactus Air Force, during its seven-and-a-half-week deployment on Guadalcanal in 1942. Players manage pilots, aircraft, and reinforcements from Henderson Field while intercepting Japanese raids, attacking ground targets and ships, and defending the airfield against bombardment, disease, and advancing infantry. Missions cover the air, land, and sea war, with outcomes shaped by player decisions and dice.
