Backpackers travel the countries of the world, balancing money and energy as they explore destinations and gather experiences. Players build tableaux, learn languages, make friends, collect souvenirs, and pursue personal and public goals. Experience icons score points based on popularity, which shifts during the game, while bonus actions and blog posts provide additional ways to advance. The game ends when a player places their last explorer token, and the player with the most points wins.
