Battle of the Five Armies

A hex-based wargame depicting the struggle between the forces of Good and Evil around the Lonely Mountain. Players command Dwarves, Elves, Men, Goblins, Wargs, Eagles, and named characters including Gandalf, Beorn, Bard, Thorin, Dain, and the Elf King, with Smaug also represented. Players move units across varied terrain, manage reinforcements and army morale, and resolve combat, missile fire, and special abilities using dice and charts. Optional rules add hidden movement, archers, Warg-riders, and effects for fighting under the Mountain.
