An innovative chit-based command system determines which formations activate, while players choose the formation to act and manage the effects of repeated activations. Orders, timing, terrain, concealed unit strength, and the coordination of infantry, cavalry, and artillery shape the battle. Special rules cover Austrian column formations, ammunition shortages, defensive structures, and the arrival of French reinforcements.
