From Salerno to Rome: World War II – The Italian Campaign, 1943-1944

This two-player wargame covers the Italian Campaign from the Allied landings at Salerno in September 1943 to the liberation of Rome in June 1944. Scenarios recreate battles including Ortona, Salerno, Anzio, Cassino, and the breakthrough of the Gustav Line, while a full campaign spans ten monthly turns. Players activate formations using limited activation points, then move, attack, reorganize, or place forces in reserve. Artillery, aircraft, naval support, reconnaissance, reinforcements, supply, defensive lines, and landings add further operational choices. Alternating impulses allow reactions to enemy moves, while victory depends on reaching Rome, stopping the Allied advance, and managing casualties.
