The Three Days of Gettysburg

A regimental-level simulation of the Battle of Gettysburg, covering the fighting across southern Pennsylvania through several scenarios or the complete three-day battle. Players command Confederate and Union regiments and artillery batteries through a four-level hierarchy from brigadiers to Lee and Meade. An initiative and activation system models battlefield command, while unit weapon types, cohesion ratings, artillery barrages, ammunition, fatigue, and special rules for inexperienced troops shape each engagement. Brigadiers have individual action profiles, and a shock system allows continuous attacks and sweeping advances. The game uses three maps, over 1,600 counters, and a scale of 20 minutes per turn, 125 yards per hex, and 50 men per strength point.
