Players take the roles of mages seeking to defeat creatures, collect power stones, and earn the most victory points. Spells, Artifacts, and Herbs provide additional ways to gain magical energy and improve rewards. Each turn, players receive magical energy and assign their mages to two revealed Adventure cards or pass for extra energy. Adventures may provide energy, victory points, Artifacts, or spells, while monsters and some spells are auctioned among the assigned mages. Players may also cooperate to defeat a monster for a smaller reward. After resolving the Adventures, players can trade and play Artifacts, including combinations that grant additional benefits. The game ends when the Adventure deck is empty.
