Fort

2020 · لعبة ورق

Fort

Players take the role of kids building a backyard fort while collecting friends, toys, and pizza. On each turn, players play cards to perform actions, recruit friends into their posse, add toys and pizza to their personal fort, and score points for those collections. Cards can be used to take actions on one’s own turn and to follow other players’ actions on their turns, creating opportunities to copy or diverge from opponents’ strategies. Deck-building and hand-management matter: unused cards may be discarded over time, so players balance playing for immediate benefit with maintaining a useful deck. The game ends after a set number of rounds and the player with the most victory points wins.

Just played once. Very clever design, a bit complicated at first but quick to play after a couple rounds. The winner was the player who reached Fort level 5, I'd be surprised if any of the other game end triggers would happen in future games, but we'll see!

أسئلة القواعد

إجابات من كتيّب القواعد يقدمها مساعد القواعد في Ludoya.

Do I have to use a card's public action when I play it, or can I just use the private one?

You may use the public action, the private action, or both in either order, but you must finish one action before starting the other, and you must use at least one action on the played card fully (including any suits you add). (pages 6–7)

Can I add cards to a played card just to boost suits even if those suits don't actually change the effect?

No — when you add a card to improve a played card, at least one of its suits must change the effect of at least one action you use; you cannot add cards that serve no purpose. (page 8)

If I follow the leader, can I discard a multi‑suit card and have both suits count?

Yes — you may follow by discarding a multi‑suit card as long as at least one suit matches the leader's played card, and if it has two matching suits you count both for actions that use an × suit. (page 9)

Do I have to recruit every turn, and where can I take a card from?

Yes — during Phase 3 you must recruit one card into your discard pile, either by taking any card from the Park (then replacing it), taking any card from a rival's Yard (no replacement), or drawing from the Park deck. (page 9)

How does Advance Fort work and what do Fort levels give me?

The Advance Fort action lets you pay the resources shown between your current and next Level from your Stuff and/or Pack, then move your Fort marker up; each Level increases Lookout and Pack capacity and grants rewards at Level 1 (a made‑up rule), Level 2 (a perk), and Level 5 (the macaroni sculpture and an end‑game trigger). (pages 12, 10)

What do the ✖ (PER), ▶ (THEN), and parentheses mean on action cards?

✖ (PER) means repeat the left action the number of times shown by the symbol on the right; ▶ (THEN) means do the left action, then do the right action (you must do the right if able); parentheses group actions so the whole group is multiplied by an ✖. (page 14)
