Unspeakable Words

Players assemble words from a shared pool of letter tiles to decode eldritch secrets in a Cthulhu Mythos setting. Each word scores based on the number of angular strokes in its letters, and after forming a word players roll dice to check whether its power causes a loss of sanity. Gameplay balances tile drafting, wordcraft, and risk management as players attempt to score while avoiding madness. Rounds proceed quickly with simultaneous play and periodic sanity checks; the player with the highest surviving score wins.
