Crescent Moon

Players assume one of five radically asymmetric roles vying for control over a fractured Caliphate, each role offering distinct abilities, actions, and victory objectives. Play runs over three years (four in the long game); each year players take four actions such as raising forces, hiring mercenaries, building fortifications and settlements, expanding into new territories, or deploying special abilities. Area control and negotiation drive the interaction: battles, political interference, and shifting alliances change regional influence. A shared market supplies power cards—ploys, advisors, and specialist units—that players can purchase to augment their strategies. Scoring occurs at the end of each year based on role-specific goals, and the highest total wins.
