During the slave uprisings under Spartacus, escaped rebels build influence and challenge the Roman establishment while Rome works to restore its own version of peace. Players use cards to expand their power across seven categories, seeking to surpass Rome and their opponents. Through intrigue, a player can instead join forces with Rome and help defeat the revolt. The game combines card management with tactical decisions, and two copies support games for up to eight players.
