Players lead rival samurai clans in a shifting struggle for territory, wealth, and influence. Combat, resource management, negotiation, and timing all shape the course of play, with Daimyo generals, shadow warriors, castles, family members, and card-driven events supporting different strategies. The flexible rules support 2 to 4 players and a wide range of scenarios. Players deploy forces, manage Koku and Samurai values, resolve conflicts with cards and dice, and use diplomacy to pursue changing objectives. Games can last from around three hours to more than ten, depending on the scenario and style of play.
