A Rite of Gnolls

This encounter takes place at an old temple occupied by a pack of young gnolls seeking trophies to earn warrior status. They are prepared to ambush the adventurers, while a champion gnoll supervises them and may join the fight if the group is threatened. The grounds are tended by Chort, a deteriorating flesh golem who keeps the temple clear of debris and bodies by using a nearby pit. The encounter’s different factions and hazards can quickly turn a straightforward battle into a dangerous confrontation.
