Airlines Europe

2011 · Økonomisk

Airlines Europe

Players build airline networks across a map of Europe by placing route licenses and deploying tiny airplane miniatures. On each turn a player either expands an airline and takes a share, plays shares to collect dividends, trades shares to acquire the special Air ABACUS company, or takes money from the bank. Company values come from the route licenses they hold, and scoring occurs at randomly determined intervals so timing share play and investments matters. The game separates victory points from money and supports up to five players, with a compact playtime and a share-track system that tracks ownership and payouts.

21 Good game about shares of airlines. But not much theme and also a little bit too much luck involved. This is a quick playing stock game where players invest in, and build out airline companies. As the airline gets more board presence, the stock becomes worth more points. When a scoring card flips, players get points for each stock they hold based on it's valuation position and based on their majority standing with that company. The actions are fueled by money and the flip luck of what stock cards you manage to draw. In terms of feel, this game is similar to Paris Connection and Chicago Express, but this game feels lacking in comparison, because the board is so open, and building in one direction vs another is fairly meaningless. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ☆ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ☆ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★☆☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
