Attila: Scourge of Rome

Presents two historical battles between Hunnic confederation forces and Roman armies in the mid-5th century: the Utus (Eastern Rome, 447 AD) and the Catalaunian Fields (Western Rome and Visigoths, 451 AD). Players command Huns and allied barbarian contingents or Eastern/Western Roman forces, using scenario-specific orders and counters to recreate troop deployments and actions. Includes 140 counters representing Huns, Visigoths, Alans, Burgundians, Franks, Saxons, Gepids, and Roman units (including cheiroballistra artillery), a full-size map, and a scenario/rule booklet. Introduces steppe warfare rules such as feigned retreat, defections, and barbarian impetuosity, plus adjusted composite-bow missile effectiveness and other rule modifications to the Cataphract system. Requires the base Cataphract game to play.
