Backgammon

Two players race to move their 15 checkers around the board and bear them off before the opponent does. Each turn players roll dice and split the results between one or two checkers, choosing moves that advance pieces while creating points to block the opponent. Captured checkers are sent to the bar and must re-enter before other moves can be made, introducing tactical risk and timing decisions. Optional use of a doubling cube lets players raise the game's stakes mid-play. Play balances probabilistic movement from the dice with positional strategy and risk management.
