A tactical World War One game covering the opening battles of 1914 on the Eastern Front, where Austro-Hungarian and Russian forces fight across varied terrain. Players command companies and squadrons, using infantry, mountain troops, artillery, cavalry, Cossacks and other specialized units. The sixty scenarios portray actions involving the Austro-Hungarian Common Army, Austrian Landwehr, Hungarian Honvédség, Bosniaken and Imperial Russian Army. Six rigid mapboards depict the battlefields and are compatible with mapboards from the Panzer Grenadier series. The game includes 781 playing pieces.
