Great War Commander

A tactical card-driven wargame that simulates engagements on the Western Front in 1914–1918. Players command battalion-sized forces across deeper, multi-hex maps and take turns resolving actions by playing Fate cards to activate units and trigger events. The system adds new orders (Offensive, Runner, Machine Gun Suppress) and over 30 actions including Engineering, Go to Ground, and Rolling Barrage, plus 40 era-specific events such as tanks, stormtroopers, trommelfeuer, and machine-gun nests. Strategy cards represent higher command influence and a rigid chain-of-command structure of captains, lieutenants, and NCOs. Scenarios cover trench and open-field battles, gas and artillery effects, air reconnaissance, and tank combats, with historical and random scenario options.
