Players command Soviet and German forces in the drives across West Prussia and Pomerania, managing combat, movement, supply, headquarters support, and unit cohesion over ten-turn scenarios. The system derives from classic operational wargames and uses standardized unit, distance, and time scales, with scenario rules adding the distinctive conditions of each battle.
