This two-player wargame recreates the Battle of Borodino, where the exhausted French Grande Armée attacks entrenched Russian forces on the outskirts of Moscow. Players command corps across a focused map, managing the effects of divided leadership, battlefield friction, and changing momentum. Fast-playing turns, night rounds, and story-driven random event cards create pauses and uncertainty during the advance. The game includes the historical battle along with scenarios featuring a quicker Russian response or a French flanking maneuver advised by Marshal Davout. Each hex represents roughly one kilometer, each unit a corps, and each turn about three and a half hours by day or ten hours at night.
