Caverna: The Forgotten Folk

Replace the basic dwarves with one of eight distinct races, each with unique advantages, disadvantages, and special rules. Some races introduce new resources and provide four unique rooms that replace rooms from the base game, allowing other players to use their powers as well.

Regelspørgsmål

Besvaret ud fra regelbogen af Ludoyas regelassistent.

Do I have to play as one of the new Folks, or can I stay with the Dwarves?

You may choose the Dwarves and use the base-game rules, or choose a Folk and follow its special rules. If a Folk rule contradicts a base-game rule, the Folk rule takes precedence (p. 2).

Can I use a Goblin as soon as I gain it?

No. A Goblin needs a room and must be fed 2 Food at Harvest, but you cannot use it until the following round. Goblins count toward your limit of 6 People (p. 3).

When do I place my Goblins, and in what order?

Place all players’ Person discs first, including Additional Dwarves; only then can anyone place Goblins. Place your Goblins in increasing weapon strength, and if multiple players have Goblins, follow normal play order (p. 4).

Can I get more Gemfruits or Mushrooms from the supply whenever I want to sow them?

No: you can sow only crops you already have, and these crops are available only through certain Folk abilities or Furnishing tiles. Sow Gemfruits in empty Fields and Mushrooms in empty Caverns; each newly sown space gets one crop from your supply and one from the general supply (p. 3).

Can anyone build the new Furnishing tiles, and where do they go?

Yes. The new tiles are available to any player, not just the Folk that introduced them; some must be placed in an empty Field or Meadow as indicated by the tile’s background. You still need to take a “Furnish a Cavern” action to build them (p. 4).
