Dice Town

Dice Town

Players roll five poker dice and use a push-your-luck drafting mechanic to build poker hands while managing a small cash pool. On each turn everyone sets dice aside one by one, paying a dollar to lock extra dice, then compares results to claim locations in town that trigger actions tied to die faces. Different faces grant specific effects: nines yield nuggets from the mine, tens take money from the bank, jacks let players draw and keep useful cards, queens allow card theft, kings appoint a sheriff who breaks ties, and the best poker hand in the town hall wins property claims worth victory points. Unsuccessful players may visit a special location to take one of several consolation actions. The game ends when nuggets or claims run out; points come from nuggets, money, the sheriff, and card values.

Regelspørgsmål

Besvaret ud fra regelbogen af Ludoyas regelassistent.

Can I keep more than one die at a time, and do I have to pay for extra dice?

Yes — you may leave more than one die under your cup, but you must immediately spend $1 for each die kept beyond the first (and if you keep no die after a roll you also pay $1). (page 2)

If I pay to keep dice and finish building my hand before others, do they get another roll?

Yes — when some players finish early, each player who hasn’t finished rolls their remaining dice one last time and must keep that final roll; they do not have to pay dollars to keep more than one die after this final roll. (page 2)

Who decides ties for control of a town location?

The current Sheriff breaks ties for control of town locations. (page 3)

If I have the most 10s but the bank is empty, do I still take the bank or visit Doc Badluck?

You still take control of the bank even if it is empty; you do not go to Doc Badluck in that case. (page 4)

How many General Store draws do I get on the first round?

During the first round, the player who goes to the General Store performs that action twice (draw/take/discard, then draw/take/discard again). (page 3)

How do you compare two equally-ranked poker hands (for example, two four-of-a-kinds)?

Higher face values win (order: 9, 10, J, Q, K, A); for Full Houses compare the three-of-a-kind first, then the pair. (page 4)
