Gettysburg: The First Day

The first day of Gettysburg in the Blind Swords system, depicting the Union and Confederate forces during the opening engagement of the battle. Players command brigades through a random chit-pull activation system that reflects the period’s command and control challenges and also supports solitaire play. Special rules cover artillery barrages, temporary Union commanders-in-chief, Rebel sharpshooters, Buford’s dismounted cavalry, and Union breech-loading rifles. An optional variant introduces variable marching for Confederate R.H. Anderson’s Division and Union Slocum’s 12th Corps.
