In the Shadows: Resistance in France 1943 - 1944

A two-player card-driven wargame simulating the French Resistance’s struggle against occupying and collaborationist forces from January 1943 to June 1944. Players take the roles of either the clandestine Resistance or the Occupation, using cards and resources to contest towns, influence the populace, and conduct sabotage, arrests, and counterinsurgency actions. Victory depends on occupation resources and maintaining required Resistance units at the end of the campaign turn. A narrative solitaire mode casts the player as a Resistance leader facing an automaton opponent, using the same mechanics to create varied scenarios and an immersive solo experience.
