Players follow the stages of a settler’s journey across the nineteenth-century American frontier. They first acquire traveling equipment—oxen, weapons, provisions, and a wagon—in the eastern section of the board, then set out across the western section toward the Pacific coast. The first player to reach a destination marked with a red circle wins. The setting combines people and events from different periods rather than depicting a specific historical date.
