The galaxy faces a recurring cycle of extinction as the Reapers prepare to harvest advanced organic life. Set in 2181, before humanity’s first SPECTRE and the arrival of the Reapers, the game places players in a universe shaped by ancient machines, alien empires, and the remnants of the Prothean resistance. Players build a character by selecting abilities, equipment, companions, and drawbacks, then determine how they enter the setting and prepare for the coming war. Their choices shape the resources and capabilities available as they confront the galaxy’s escalating threats.
