Melee

A compact man-to-man skirmish game of pre-gunpowder combat set on a hex-grid arena. Players control individual fighters rated for Strength and Dexterity, equip weapons and armor with differing trade-offs, and resolve movement and melee through simple tactical rules and counters on the map. Components include a rule booklet, a hex map and counters; the system emphasizes quick, tactical duels and serves as the basis for a larger role-playing ruleset.
