Nippon: Genro
A major expansion that adds a new layer of interaction to the base game. It introduces five persistent “Genro” cards, each imposing a global constraint or penalty that alters priorities and reshapes familiar strategies. Players select two Genro each game, creating different combinations that change tempo and tension and encourage new decision paths within the existing production→delivery engine. The cards integrate with the core mechanics rather than replace them, increasing strategic depth and complexity while offering configurable setups to tailor play sessions. The expansion uses collective, fictionalized state actors as thematic drivers rather than portrayals of specific historical individuals.

Regelspørgsmål
Besvaret ud fra regelbogen af Ludoyas regelassistent.
When I gain Genro’s approval, where does my Loyalty token go?
Place it on an empty space in the column matching the type of Goods you spent and the row matching the quantity spent. If there’s an empty space below that space, place the token in the lowest empty space in the column instead. (p. 3)
Do I interact with a Genro right after placing a Loyalty token?
No. After resolving all the activations you want for the Local Markets action, interact once for each of your dark-side-up Loyalty tokens on that Genro’s board: flip one token bright-side up, then apply that Genro’s effect. (p. 3)
Can I use Goods I gain from a Genro to serve a Local Market on the same turn?
No. Genro interactions happen after you’ve completed your desired Local Markets activations, so Goods gained from a Genro can only be used on a later turn. (p. 3)
What happens if players tie in Loyalty scoring?
Each tied player gets the sum of the points for the tied places, divided by the number of tied players and rounded down; each place’s points are scored only once. In a two-player game, second place uses the third-place points value, and third place uses the fourth-place value. (p. 3)
When I advance on the Enlightener’s Progress track, do I have to take the bonus that matches my exact level?
You may take a visible bonus from any Enlightenment tile that matches the color of the space you moved to, and you may choose a lower-level bonus. Reaching a space with the slide icon triggers its tile-sliding effect only the first time any player reaches that space. (p. 7)
