Stalingrad: Inferno on the Volga

Recreates the 1942 battle for Stalingrad on a large, highly detailed map based on air reconnaissance, covering the city, suburbs and surrounding terrain along a 30 km stretch of the Volga River. Wooden block units represent German regiments and assault battalions and Soviet brigades/divisions, using block fog-of-war to track unit strength and identities. Players resolve combat and maneuver through a card-driven system that introduces historical events and unpredictable surprises. The game includes a full campaign from August 23 to November 20 (1–2 hours) and supports four modes: solitaire (German vs. Soviet AI), cooperative, and two competitive configurations. Complexity is medium–high and components include a laminated map, over 200 blocks/plastic pieces and about 50 event cards.
