The Arts of LARP
This ethnographic study examines live-action role-play communities, including how games are structured, designed, and performed. It explores how new participants learn the culture through introduction and apprenticeship, as well as the expectations and motivations that shape play. The book also considers how live-action role play supports learning across different disciplines and interests, with attention to collaborative storytelling, co-creative play, and the overlap between player and designer roles.
