The Unknown (fan expansion for Terraforming Mars)

A fan-made expansion combines Terraforming Mars with the Alien universe, presenting Mars or LV-425 as an unknown world waiting to be explored. Players terraform and place tiles while hidden areas conceal unpredictable bonuses and events that can affect opponents. The Dropship standard action allows players to scout locations before committing to them. Characters such as Newt, Xenos, and the Xeno Queen add customizable event lists, while each game can use a player-created map without requiring additional boards. Ocean and Mons regions remain marked, preserving the base game’s placement rules and those of its official expansions.
