The Vote: Suffrage and Suppression in America

The battle over voting rights in the United States during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. One player, Equality, works to secure elected senators and women's suffrage through legislative victories at the state and federal levels. The opposing player, Supremacy, resists these amendments and builds systems of voter suppression, intimidation, and discrimination, with the Supreme Court able to reverse local gains. Players use cards from a shared face-up display, placing them in reserve to take actions and trigger abilities. Organization cards expand each player's capacity, while region cards provide bonus actions. Equality's victory advances voting rights but does not eliminate the suppression structures that remain in place.
