Thunder at Cassino

Mid-complexity wargame simulating the Third Battle of Monte Cassino in March 1944. Players command Allied assault forces (New Zealand, Indian and British formations) or German defenders (primarily Fallschirmjäger units) across an area-divided map of Cassino, its monastery and surrounding terrain. Play uses an area-impulse activation system. Units are represented mainly at the platoon level for infantry and armor; combat, movement and activation occur through impulse-driven sequences. The game includes introductory scenarios, an end-of-battle scenario and a full campaign covering the entire battle, with playtime ranging roughly from 60 to 360 minutes depending on scenario.
