A complex stock-market–centric 18xx set in northern Italy during a period of shifting borders. Players operate historical and generic corporations, buy and sell shares, and can have companies invest in or own shares of other public companies, with mergers possible. Gameplay focuses on manipulating share prices, managing capitalization on a per‑share basis, and coping with rapid train obsolescence while laying routes across mountainous terrain. Turn order and company control can change frequently as investments and mergers alter who operates when, making financial management as important as track-building.
