It adds genre-focused rules for creating characters, settings, and campaigns, while drawing on the fiction of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and Edgar Rice Burroughs. The book also examines the history and influence of steampunk, its early science-fiction sources, and the social realities of the Victorian period. Its material can be used with other tabletop campaigns, whether or not the included rules are adopted.
