C.A.R.D.S. Core Rules

A lightweight roleplaying system for improvised or simple adventures, using a standard deck of playing cards instead of character skills or extensive rules. The deck is divided by suit among the game master and one to three players, with the game master retaining the Jokers; larger groups require a second deck. Play proceeds through shared narration until a conflict arises. Combat and other contests are resolved by playing cards, with lower cards discarded when beaten and winning cards returning to their owner’s hand.
