Darkest Night: In Tales of Old

An expansion sends heroes across the kingdom to uncover the locations of holy relics through new “Mystery” cards rather than searching for keys. Players draw mysteries that specify actions or challenges to obtain clues and may offer additional rewards. Mysteries send players into varied set-pieces — ancient catacombs with traps, antique traders with bargains, and other narrative encounters — and require managing resources, skills, and positioning to resolve them. The expansion integrates with the base game’s cooperative fight against encroaching darkness by adding investigative objectives and themed encounters that alter how clues are acquired and how players plan their turns.
